JoJo's Calm Harbor
JoJo’s Calm Harbor
An understanding heart. A simple place to begin.
When you’ve struggled with your skin, choosing something as ordinary as soap can become a decision you hesitate over. You read ingredients, think about what has bothered you before, and wonder how your skin will respond. I know that feeling because I’ve been there.
JoJo’s Calm Harbor grew from my own skin struggles and my desire for a bar I could feel comfortable reaching for. I wanted an unscented place to begin, with ingredients chosen thoughtfully and sensitive skin at the heart of every decision.
Calendula-infused olive oil was an important part of that intention. Calendula’s long history in skin care drew me to it, and I wanted to include it alongside shea butter, colloidal oatmeal, and aloe. Each ingredient had a reason to be there. Together, they reflected the care I was looking for in my own everyday routine.
I also wanted to offer that choice to others. Some people approach scent cautiously because of their own experiences. Others simply prefer a bar without added fragrance or essential oils. You don’t have to share my skin struggles to appreciate that simplicity.
And unscented has its own quiet appeal. I personally love the natural smell of this basic bar. Even while I’m making it, the familiar smell of the fresh soap batter makes it one of my favorites. There is something comforting to me about enjoying the ingredients just as they are.
This bar also became a foundation for other creations. Lavender Calming Shores grew from my wish to carry that same thoughtful care into a bar with a light scent I loved. Many of those priorities continued into Kenzie’s Sunflower Meadow and Loryn’s Garden Embrace, each with its own personality and additional touches.
But JoJo’s Calm Harbor holds a special place for me. Its name reflects what I hoped to find: a harbor, somewhere to begin again with a little more confidence. My hope is that it offers you a simple choice and a reminder that your needs and preferences deserve thoughtful care.
